December Memories Wrap-Up

Hello, friendly readers.  You crack me up!  First you like my shirt, now you like my Christmas cookies.  (Thank you!)  I'll be sure to share the cookie recipe come December.  :)

Anyway, I hope you'll also like the December Memories mini album pages that I'm sharing today.  Since it's T-Day, I'll start with a beverage-related page.

Supplies: patterned papers from Simple Stories; stickers from Lily Bee; Candi dots from Craftwork; pen form Zig; household stapler.

Before we go much further, I want to say a bit about the album itself.  I'm just using a regular "brag book" style photo album (brand unknown) that I received as a Christmas gift.  I originally intended to decorate the cover of the album, but once all the photo/memorabilia sleeves were full, this is what happened...

Since the album no longer closes properly, I don't see much point in decorating the cover.  Instead, during the weeks of Advent and Christmas, when I'll be using the album as a home decor piece, I'll simply display the album open to a random page.

Supplies: background papers from Fancy Pants; fussy-cut papers from Basic Grey; label sticker from October Afternoon; alphabet stickers from Lily Bee; decorative sticker from Doodlebug Design.

On one day, perhaps I'll leave the album open to the pages shown above.  These pages display my friends' signatures, which I have cut out from Christmas cards.  It's impractical to keep every single Christmas card (sadly), but it's nice to see all the names collected here.

Supplies: "Polaroid" paper from Pebbles; all other papers from Fancy Pants; alphabet stickers from Lily Bee; decorative sticker from Basic Grey; pen from Zig; household stapler; photo collage created at walgreens.com.

On another day, perhaps I'll leave the book open to these pages, which document some romantic holiday moments between my husband and me.

If you'd like to see more posts with pages from this album, you can find them here, here (toward the end of the post), and here.  I haven't blogged about all fifty album pages (again, impractical), but these posts comprise a representative selection of my December Memories pages.  Thanks for letting me share this project with you.  It has been fun!  With this album now complete, I'm hoping to work on completing a few more in-progress mini albums soon.

AH! I like the idea of in-progress rather than unfinished. Sounds much more classy and hopeful.

I love that you shared Wassail with us, even though it's a tad out of season. As always, I like that you upcycled the names from Christmas cards. I would save the images, while the people mean more to you. Shows you are a true scrapbooker.

So, did you scrap on National Scrapbook Day? It's become a big event, hasn't it.

Thanks for sharing the remainder of this album with us, and I look forward to seeing others soon. Have a super T this week.

Such a cute idea!!
I have cut up Christmas cards to use on layouts before to have a memory of the cards, but never thought to use the signatures as well!

Such a great little reminder of Christmas Denise...those romantic moments pages are so very sweet! I can't actually believe it's already May....if I don't start with Christmas cards now, I will not get them finished in time!!! LOL

Mmmmm, I have lots of those unfinished work in progress things! I love this, though. It even has a page with tea in it!

So clever to cut out the signatures from your cards! I love that...and that you've treated this little album as a tiny scrapbook instead of just putting in the plain photos. and...I never thought of just taking a photo of an unopened present that way. I am totally stealing that idea! I love making the gifts pretty, so that will be a fun memory. many people think I'm crazy, but it makes me happy. Adore your mini album!

Such a great idea for those mini albums. I wouldn't have thought to "scrapbook" them.

Oh wow, Denise. What a neat mini-album. I love your idea of keeping it open to display the pages. And, I thought the neatest part was that you saved snippets of signatures. Such a neat idea! I may steal that idea from you. Happy T-day!

Sadly I keep my Christmas cards for the sentiments, but they have all gotten so generic, they all say about the same thing anymore.

I really like keeping the signatures idea. Thanks for sharing your album, I have quite a few that don't close properly too! LOL
