Cute Mail

They say that letter writing is a lost art, but I disagree.  I love mail.  This time of year is great because I get to send and receive so much extra mail, in the form of holiday greeting cards.

Product sources: aqua striped tape from MT, all other tape from 3M/Scotch.

This year I'm having fun adding a strip of decorative tape to the bottom of each envelope that I send.  There are so many cute patterns and styles of tape available right now.

I also love choosing the postage stamp for each envelope.  Preparing all these Christmas cards can be a long process, but it's worth it to me because I so enjoy sending mail.

Receiving mail is fun, too.  I've already received a number of cards, but today I want to show you one of my favorites so far from this year.  It's Santa Kitty!  This card did not come through the mail; my friend gave it to me in person.  The card accompanied this gift of a reindeer mug and a box of tea.  The name of the tea--"sweet cinnamon spice"--describes its flavor perfectly.  It's a roobois herbal tea, and I can definitely recommend it to all you tea lovers out there.

Whether you're busy with holiday tasks or just enjoying a little free time, I hope things are going well for you.  Take care!

I totally agree about mail and it is so sad that my son's generation is not going to have lovely letters to look back on like we do because they really don't seem to have the need to send snail mail. He does still send a card to my Mum because he knows she loves to get mail. I tried to resurrect my love of letter writing this year and started out with such eagerness and wrote letters to my friends and family only to get an email or instant message in return except one... a very good friend of my Dad whom I have known since I was 11 years old (and I am 60 in a few weeks) who wrote back to me and we have continued with letters between us every couple of months and he must be in his 80s so is old school enough to still appreciate a handwritten letter. Happy T day and keep sending that mail with its lovely colourful strip (I am so stealing that idea from today)!! hugs Annette

I don't get snail mail anymore and rarely send it, and most people I know are the same. I guess maybe if I sent some, I'd get some? ;) I love your idea of adding that decorative flourish. Sweet. Happy T Tuesday!

That tape will be a big hit with the postal people. They seem to like mail that is decorated. I want some cardinal postage stamps. Wish I'd known about them when I was at the PO last week. I'm sure the cards were festive, and I also love sending and receiving cards this time of year.

Bleubeard adores Santa kitty. He gives it two paws up, and I give two thumbs up to the friend who gave you the tea and reindeer mug.

Thanks for sharing your Christmas mail, your mug, and that lovely sounding tea with us for T this Tuesday.

What a cute kitty! Love it! That was kind of your friend. A lovely present and a packet of very nice tea. It would be the sort of thing I like drinking.
We are having really lovely weather here. I'm sitting on the terrace baking in the sun and have had to come in as I can't see the screen very well!(Indoors it is cold mind! Tonight we will light the fire).

Happy T-day and have a good week,
Lisca

You have a wonderful variety of festive stamps! I am not good at sending out cards...it is usually what falls by the wayside when we get too busy. Love the idea of the tape decorating the envelope-fun and colorful! happy T day!

The tape border is a lovely touch! I wish people still sent mail...I always enjoyed having penpals when I was a kid, but I bet they do that by email, too! It is such a nice touch to pick a special stamp for each card, too. Make mine Elvis!

I too love letters and cards and...well, mail! ;) Just got into the washi tapes this past year and they are so fun! I use them as extra assurance in holding the envelope closed. Sweet gift!
Happy T-Day! :)

I so totally agree with you about mail.....sending and receiving it. I had some BIG plans for cards this year, but got knocked out of the saddle with getting sick. :((

Your tea really sounds inviting......there is just something about cinnamon that draws me in.....LOL

Belated T-day wishes and thanks for the visit and the comment. Yes the paint party was fun and I am starting to feel much better everyday.
