Supplies: green cardstock from Bazzill; pink cardstock from Wausau Paper; patterned paper from Graphic 45; journaling card from Jillibean Soup; alphabet stickers from October Afternoon; ribbon from ReStyle; button from Vadim-Galina for Peace Fleece; corner punch from Creative Memories; pen from Zig. |
With its clean & simple design, the page come together very quickly, which was perfect for a page created during "vacation." I used the color combo for Summer of Color Week 4. The color pairing this time around was pink + apple green, with dark green thrown in as a highlight color.
Did you catch the pops of dark green? There is dark green on the button that I used.
And the rim of the journaling box is also dark green.
Finally, some of the alphabet stickers that I used are dark green.
As usual, my son wanted to play along with the Summer of Color. Since we were on "vacation," he also chose a quick project. Whereas he has made Rainbow Loom bracelets for the other SOC color combos, this time he opted to make a ring. Here are a few photos of the ring. It fits me just right. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Due to the time I spent on "staycation" this month, there will be no "Ten on the Tenth" post for July. I'll resume that series in August. However, I'll be blogging again soon, to show you what I've made for SOC Week 5. See you then!

I really like your green and pink piece. I try to green craft also! Thanks for stopping by! Vickie
Beautiful! I love the pretty button too!
I love this. It is simple, yet effective, and serves a dual purpose, even if the SOC deadline for these colors has passed.
I sometimes take stay-cations, but mine are all day trips and I challenge myself to spend very little money. Glad you had fun on yours.
BTW, I like the ring your son made for you with the SOC colors. I still think you should get two entries because of it! And I look forward to your week 5 entry.
Technically, I did meet the deadline by linking up to a Flickr photo of the 2 projects early Sunday morning. I just didn't have time to compose a blog post until now. :)
what beautiful page for beautiful roses...
Beautiful roses and a wonderful take on the SOC theme. Your son did a good job with the rainbow loom as well. :)
Great used of the summer of colors, sweet layout!
Great use of the colors. Lovely page.
Great C & S layout and I love pink with greens!:)
Hi Denise, Thanks for your comment on my Loom creations, it sure is fun making them but the bands don't seem to last too long though.
Thought you might like an update on the Duck/Duct tape wart removal method. Well it seems to have worked (for the time being) The first week it went all white was a bit sore but after the soaking, filing it down and leaving it open overnight, it developed a blackening underneath. After covering the second week I guess I filed more down to what I can only assume was a scab underneath it. And last week I managed to file that off so hardly anything left now and it isn't sore anymore either. There is a small scar and not sure I have got it all but leaving it open for a while to assess. Certainly worth a try. I need to start on the other index finger now! BJ
